New wire alloy enhances productivity
Sandvik Materials Technology is a world leader in so-called wirelines – wire in continuous lengths of up to 10,000 meters. The wire is used in the oil/gas industry for service and control of oil wells. Tools and instruments are fed down into the wells for various applications, such as opening and closing valves, cleaning and measuring.
During the year a new alloy was introduced for wirelines that attracted substantial attention on the market, particularly in Asia. The alloy features a unique combination of high strength and good corrosion resistance. Wirelines with a bright surface finish are now gradually being introduced, giving the wire improved fatigue resistance with up to 20%. This results in a longer life and fewer number of replacements – and with that fewer production stops and higher productivity for the customers.

In the mid 1940’s, Cullen Crawford founded the Crawford Fitting Company.
Mr. Crawford developed and patented the original flareless fitting (nut and two
ferrule system), for the Crawford Fitting Company. Thus, a new and innovative
industry was born making it far easier to make tubing connections. This reduces
installation time and errors. Since his invention, End Users from all four corners of the
globe have made billions of connections. This system provides leak proof seals and thus
Mr. Crawford has been named “The founder of the flareless fitting.”
SUPERIOR INNOVATION
Well known throughout the fitting industry, Mr. Crawford founded Tylok International, Inc. in the late 1950’s. Upon request, Mr. Crawford designed a fitting to hold liquid sodium. Having designed and patented the original flareless fitting, who better to make an improved design? Mr. Crawford knew the problems better than anyone and, as a result, he developed and patented the Tylok Standard 4 Seal Tube Fitting, which eliminates problems inherent in his original design.

Tylok International, Inc. offers a tube fitting line, CBC-Lok®, that is fully interchangeable with Swagelok® and Parker A-Lok®. Although it is always recommended to use all CBC-Lok® components, intermixing CBC-Lok® bodies and/or component parts with that of other manufacturers will not adversely affect sealing ability. CBC-Lok®Tube Fittings are made to strict quality control standards and cannot guarantee that of other manufacturers. CBC-Lok® Tube Fittings are proudly made in the U.S.A.
